Tree house, Star Dome, guestrooms & "table d'hôtes"

Welcome deep in the Cévennes, the Tree House, the Star Dome, and two guest rooms (Zen room and South room) await you. In this ancient farm, Elisabeth and Philippe welcome their guests as if they were old friends. In a hospitable and warm atmosphere, short-term travellers as well as regular guests find tranquility and a change of scenery from spring to autumn, in cosy rooms or unusual accommodations. For dinner, you are welcome to join us at the large dining table d'hôte, to break bread in a family atmosphere. We use local, bio and season products in our home made cooking.

Build in the XVIIIe century just below the mountain ridge, facing south, this former silkworm farm offers a breathtaking view. At short distance from the Cevenol panoramic cliff road, the small village of Penens is enshrined at the top of the valley bordered by the Dourdon river and the Trappes stream and sheltered from cloud toped granite giant Mount Lozère. From there, you can easily take spectacular trips to the “Gorges du Tarn”, and to Trabuc, Aven-Armand and Cocalière caves, among numerous natural or historical wonders.

L’Oustaou de Joséphine signed the European Chart for a sustainable tourism, and is a member of Ecotourism Cévennes. The rooms received the “Chambres d’hôtes de référence” label, and with the Star Dome and the Tree House  they were granted with the "Esprit Parc National" label by the Parc National des Cévennes.

The Causses and the Cévennes are registered on Unesco's World Heritage list as cultural properties. The World Heritage Committee acknowledged the “Outstanding Universal Value” of their mountain landscape interspersed by deep valleys, which have been shaped by agro-pastoralism over three millennia.
